On their way to a concert, America’s most beloved family tragically perished in a plane crash.
The Nelons, a well-known and cherished gospel family, lost seven members in the disaster, including Jason and Kelly Nelon Clark, their daughter Amber, and son-in-law Nathan Kistler. Also killed were pilot Larry Haynie and his wife Melissa, as well as Melanie Hodges, a member of the family’s team.
The group’s only surviving member, Nelon Streetman, was not aboard the flight. The tragedy occurred as the family was traveling to Alaska for the Gaither Homecoming Cruise when the plane crashed over Wyoming. Emergency crews rushed to the scene, where the wreckage was found engulfed in flames.
The Wyoming Sheriff’s Office confirmed that none of the passengers survived the crash. The surviving family members have expressed their gratitude for the prayers and support they’ve received, particularly for Jason’s parents, Dan and Linda Clark, as well as for Nelon Streetman, their family, and their future child.
