Meghan Markle has once again stirred public discontent. The Duchess of Sussex made a solo appearance at a Broadway show—without Prince Harry—and her arrival caused quite a stir.
Far from trying to keep a low profile, Meghan seemed more concerned about her personal security than staying incognito. The former American actress showed up in a three-car convoy, accompanied by an unmarked NYPD vehicle. She rode in one of the SUVs, while the other two carried only drivers.
To boost her security detail, Meghan even enlisted former Secret Service agents. Two ex-intelligence officers reportedly traveled in the NYPD vehicle as part of her private security team.
Even the paparazzi—who’ve seen it all—were stunned. Photographers described Meghan’s precautions as “absolutely insane, completely over-the-top, and not suited to the occasion.” They pointed out that even megastars like Beyoncé and Kim Kardashian usually stick to just one car.
“Meghan’s totally out of control and going way overboard,” a Page Six insider commented. “It’s ridiculous if the city’s footing the bill. And if the NYPD officers weren’t officially on duty, those flashing lights shouldn’t have been used.”
